2nd CC Exercise Contest!

'Ello, 'ello, members of the CC community. :)
We're bringing back the exercise contest from last year, with a few adjustments. (We love to have you here on CC.. But don't want you to become a couch potato. ;) ) Therefore, we're combining having fun, exercising, and accountability to make sure that doesn't happen. Sounds like a good combination, right? Well, rewards of CC money will hopefully take your motivation up another notch. ;) The contest will be divided into two sessions this year. The first session lasting from Saturday, June 7th through Saturday, July 5th. With the second session running from July 5th Through Saturday, August 2nd.

There are many benefits to exercising. Here's just a few:
-It reduces the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes
-It releases chemicals in your brain that lift your mood, making you happier
-Improves your capacity to learn by improving your attention and concentration skills
-Maintains healthy muscles, bones, and joints
-Helps to produce more energy

Yes, I provided a link to last year's contest, but here's the rules again anyway, along with a few minor changes:

1.You can participate by posting your goals for each week in the exercise goal thread. (Optional) You may post these goals anytime between now and the end of the contest. You may also modify them at anytime.

Why goals?
(1) You will personally benefit from goal-setting if you take it
seriously and (2) you will be better rewarded with prizes.

What kind of goals? This is completely up to you, but they must be
specific. For example, "Exercise for 30 min/day 3x/week during
July" is acceptable; "exercise more" is not. I also
recommend that your goals be attainable. For example, "Run a
10K this month" is a good goal for regular runners but terrible
for those who don't normally run.

2. In the exercise log you will need to post:
What exercise you did and how long you exercised for (rounded to the nearest 5 minutes)

To receive credit for your exercises and goal assessments, you must post them during that week. (So when we get to June 31, you can't post a June 1 report and receive money for that.) Reports are due at the end of each week on Saturdays.

Reports for the first session will be accepted through the following dates:

June 7-13
(Reports accepted through Sat, June 13 @ 11:59 PM EDT)

June 14-21
(Reports accepted through Sat, June 21 @ 11:59 PM EDT)

June 22-28
(Reports accepted through Sat, June 28 @ 11:59 PM EDT)

June 29-July 5
(Reports accepted through Sat, July 5 @ 11:59 PM EDT)

I will be posting the dates for the second session as it draws closer.

What prizes can I earn?
5 minutes exercising = 3.00 seashells, if you have made a goal and you report your exercises with an assessment of how you're doing with respect to your goal that week.
5 minute exercising = 1.50 in seashells if you have not made a goal or you report your exercises without an assessment of how you're doing with respect to your goal that week.

What counts as exercise? Just about any sporting activity. Here's a list to get you started. An activity needn't be listed here to count if it is obviously exercise, but please ask for clarification if you're not sure.

I didn't see karate on that list, but does it count?
Count me in.

*Sighs* I can't. I am almost done with vacation.

Does exercising my fingers by typing count?

I swam for 3 hours a couple days ago. My grandma has a really big pool.

I don't think they'll let that count, believe me if that counted I would have a billion seashells right now

Sadly, this wasn't as big a hit as I had hoped for. Partly because we were in a posting slump for one thing. However, if there is a high demand for this event to come back we might try to do it again before next summer.
